The New Multiverse

We’re still settling into the universe of DC Comics newly rebooted line-up, but as part of their efforts to differentiate this from what has come before, this spring will introduce us to the new multiverse that surrounds it. Whether these worlds are limited to fifty-two as they were in the past decade, or returning to the titular infinite worlds of the first Crisis remains to be seen.

Known worlds in the New Multiverse include:

New Earth, featured in DC Comics New 52 and its related mini-series.

Earth One, featured in Superman: Earth One and the upcoming Batman: Earth One.

Earth Two, featured in Earth Two and Worlds’ Finest.

And the as-yet Unnumbered Earth to be featured in Action Comics #9. This universe closely resembles one introduced by Grant Morrison in Final Crisis #7, featuring a Superman who is President of the United States of America, and Nubia in the role of Wonder Woman.

The Multiverse is one of my favorite concepts in comics, because it means literally anything can happen. I, for one, am excited to see what comes of it this time around.
